In addition, to enable solar-powered operation of the high-definition MIP LCD display with full dots and integrated memory in each pixel—a display commonly used in G-SHOCK sports models—we have developed a more energy-efficient version. This new display offers a total of eight different display styles: you can choose between two different styles—the easy-to-read STANDARD and the CLASSIC for a traditional 7-segment look—through four display modes. The high-precision, high-contrast MIP LCD display provides a wide viewing angle that not only absorbs ambient light—sunlight or even fluorescent light—but also allows for more detailed representation for exceptional readability even in bright outdoor spaces and direct sunlight.
The display design in time mode retains the look of the first G-SHOCK, with traditional styling and advanced functionality. Using the CASIO WATCHES app, you can pair it with your smartphone via Bluetooth®. With Multi-Band 6, the Tough Solar charging system and high-brightness LED light, you'll have all the practical utility you need at your fingertips.
This new chapter of G-SHOCK is manufactured at Yamagata Casio, the ‘mother factory’ where the history of the original G-SHOCK was written.
